As well as baking things I also love to cook main courses as well!
Here is how I cooked Dhal Curry.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Dahl (also known as lentils)
- 1 tspn Termric Powder
- 1 chopped tomato
- 2 sliced green chilli
- 2 tbsp Coconut milk
- 1/2 tspn Salt
Extra:
- 1/2 tspn Musturd seeds
- 1/2 tspn Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tspn Fenu Greek seeds
- sprinkle Curry/Bay leaves
Method:
- Slice the chillies, onions and tomatoes
- Put the Dahl/lentils in a saucepan. Then put two cups of water (if you put more cups of Dahl/lentils in you must double the amount of water) in the pan and mix it around. After that drain it out and continue until you have done it three times.
- Put the saucepan on the heat on number 5 and have the lid on. When it is boiled turn the heat down to 3 and add the coconut milk, then turn it down to 2.
- In a pan put the oil in then add the mustard seeds and when it starts to sizzle add the cumin seeds, Fenus Greek seeds and curry/bay leaves in.
- Then add the chillies, onion and tomatoes for 2 minutes.
- Once the time is up put the pan of ingredients into the saucepan and stir in.
- Then serve with rice, bread (pitta or nann bread) or on it’s own.
- ENJOY!!!
